IT exhibition "Le Technophile"(Lover of technology & Computerization) organized by the IT Unit of Sirimavo Bandaranaika Vidyalaya

IT exhibition "Le Technophile"(Lover of technology & Computerization) organized by the IT Unit of Sirimavo Bandaranaika Vidyalaya was held on the 2^nd of August 2011. Honored Chief guest was Dr. Ajith Pasquel (Senior Lecturer, University of Moratuwa.

Highlights

IT is taught as a subject from grade 2 up to grade 13 and we have three IT labs to facilitate this effort.

Recent Training programs

Training Programs for Teachers in 8 schools under English & IT Program initiated by HE President

Computer Graphics course for Grade 9,10,11 students

Seminar for students aiming GCE OL (1997 - 2010)

Workshop on Networking - conducted by IDM

6 months training program on hardware conducted by Vocational Training Institute - Rathmalana

Recent Awards and Participations

2010 Microsoft Software competition - Mrs. Waruni Wickrmasinghe (Teachers Section) and Miyuru Guruge (Students section) won Provincial Awards.

Software Competition on Animation organized by Devi Balika Vidyalaya - Devni Yasara won the second place.

Students from all grades participated in Thinkquest program since 2010.

National Schools Excellence Competition 2009.

Thinkquest Participation

This program was introduced to Sri Lanka Schools in 2010. Our school has taken a leading stride in this program and about 30 teachers and 500 students took part in 2010 competition. Teachers and Students were awarded with certificates and this program has increased the knowledge and IT exposure of our students.
